Happy 4th of July!

Well, Zachary's first 4th of July has gone well so far. We went to a get-together with Tyler's co-workers. It was very nice - typical BBQ, potato salad, corn on the cob, etc. Zach did well - although he completely missed a nap in there, so he got a little fussy toward the end. We also got to try out his new car seat today. We got him a convertible car seat that will last him until he's big enough for a booster seat. It's a pretty cool seat - looks VERY comfortable, and it even has a cup holder! Ha!

After Zach's nap, we are going to go to Clayton Municipal park for a fireworks show. They have free ice cream right now, but Zach needed his nap more. We'll see if the dogs survive this evening with all the loud noises...I don't think they'll enjoy it, but we're hoping for no nervous breakdown :)

On a more serious note, to reflect on this important day, I thought I'd post a couple of my favorite quotes. I hope today reminds us of how important our freedom is, and that there are people in the world that will do ANYTHING to take it away from us. We have to do what is necessary to stop them.

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves, and, under a just God, cannot retain it. ~Abraham Lincoln

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. ~Samuel Adams

Happy 4th of July, God Bless America!!
